Hello! I’ve designed a new take on my rainbow rollers which can already be found on ravelry, due to the accessibility issues I’m adding it here on my blog for the time being.
You will need 2.5mm needles, either a small circular, dpns or with a longer cable for magic loop. And a whole bunch of minis/ yarn left overs! If you need some minis to make a pair – I have lots in stock over on the website.
The pattern is really simple, its the same pattern for both mitts and a perfect project for out and about or tv knitting.
Using 2.5mm needles cast on 60 stitches, place a stitch marker to mark the start of the round and join.
Work 10 rows of k1, p1 around.
Then simply knit all stitches until the mitt is 12 inch long – we will now make the thumb hole. If you wanted a shorter or less slouchy mitt you can knit less rounds at the point.
Knit until the stitch marker, instead of starting a new round, turn work and purl back to the stitch marker. Repeat this 10 more times.
Knit all the stitches like in the main body section, slipping your stitch marker as you go, until it measures 2.5 inch from the thumb hole.
Work 8 rows of k1, p1.
Cast off using a stretchy cast off,
You can make them more or less slouchy by adding or taking away length on the main body. The picture shows Stephen modelling them, they are longer and more slouchy on me and will be perfect for doing the school run, walking to work with bug when the weather is cooler. These would also make an amazing present.
